Old Elthamians Sports Club was founded in 1911 with the cricket section formed some 35 years later. We are situated at the Foxbury War Memorial Ground, Chislehurst in the north west region of Kent, boasting a fantastic range of multi-sport facilities accompanying a newly renovated club house.
The club merged with Granby Cricket Club in 2004 and became known as OEGCC. The Granby connection helped rejuvenate the Junior Section at the club, one which has since flourished and formed the basis upon which we have strived to develop.
This season we will be reverting back to the Old Elthamians CC name, in keeping with the Rugby, Squash and Lacrosse sections at the club.
Old Elthamians is an open club and membership is available to all. We are always on the look out for new players (umpires and scorers too) of all ages and abilities.
Foxbury is a safe and picturesque environment for you and your children to play and watch cricket. We are tucked away down a quiet lane away from the hustle and bustle of metropolitan Kent. Sport lovers of all ages are welcome to come down to Foxbury and watch a game, have a beer or just enjoy the friendly atmosphere at the club.
Over the past two seasons we have achieved both Clubmark and Focus Club status, demonstrating our commitment to providing a safe and effective child friendly environment, within which children can learn and develop from the coaching excellence we strive to maintain.
Since the merger in 2004, the committee set about revolutionising the way cricket was played at Foxbury. The junior section went from strength to strength whilst an improvement in attitude and commitment from the club as a whole saw OECC start to move in the right direction.
Master in charge of Cricket at the school Edd Thorogood has been appointed Club Captain, which has served to further strengthen the ties between the club and Eltham College. Edd's presence has helped bring about an influx of youth and talent from the school which we hope will increase the standard and depth of players in both the senior and junior sections alike.

In 2006, the club enlisted the services of Elite Batting Coach and ex-Australian U19 international Ken Vowles as Head Coach and Professional. His impact off the field was profound, developing the skill levels of juniors and seniors alike to levels previously unseen, whilst bringing a new and exciting atmosphere to the club.
Over the past two seasons, his contribution on the pitch was equally impressive, scoring 2249 runs, with a highest score of 227*(one of three double centuries), not to mention a highly impressive 88 wickets. Ken's impact cannot be underestimated, but as he returns to Australia this winter we turn to pastures new for the coming season.
Taking up the role of Head Coach and Professional will be South African Premiership and ex-Zimbabwean First Class player Dylan de Beer (right). Together he and Edd will be looking to further the development of the club, with a target of reaching Division II of the Kent League within the next three years, whilst maintaining a fantastic environment for juniors, seniors and parents alike to enjoy cricket to the full.
