The OECC Junior Section provides coaching and matches for children aged 5 to 16, overseen by a group of ECB Qualified Coaches and ably assisted by a number of volunteers.
The section itself has in excess of 230, training on various days of the week and playing league and friendly cricket across the North of Kent.
Our well renowned Friday Club Nights often see in excess of 100 juniors playing and training at the club, with the U13 age groups and below receiving coaching, the U16s playing their league matches and many a parent enjoying a drink and a bite to eat from the patio overlooking the ground.
Our training setup is designed to cater for both age and ability, with a team of coaches working towards a specific program drawn up by our Head Coach Dylan DeBeer, designed to allow children to get the most out of the game, in terms of both enjoyment and skill acquisition.
The 2010 season will see the introduction of an OECC ECB accredited Young Leaders programme in cricket, an OECC elite training squad and 3 league sides in the U11 and U13 age groups. Above all OECC remains committed to cricket as a sport for all regardless of age and ability. To join the junior section of OECC click here.
