Old Elthamians plan for record number of junior registration on 25th April 2008
24 April 2008 - Foxbury Ground - Old Elthamians are delighted that Dylan DeBeer has joined the club to take up the position of overseas professional for the 2008 season. DeBeer 26 from Cape Town South Africa, will join the Club's 1XI and will also support the team of professional ECB coaches that will welcome record numbers of junior members during club registration evening on 25th of April.
"We are delighted that a player of Dylan's calibre and experience has joined the club to support our aspirations for success in 2008 in both our competitive matches and coaching programme, "said Ed Thorogood, 1XI captain and head of coaching for the club.
"I am really excited about being at OE's for 2008, there is such a great atmosphere here. The team looked drilled and the attitude is fantastic. I think the league title will be making its way to Foxbury!" comments DeBeer.
Recently awarded Focus Club status by the ECB in recognition of its investment in junior cricket and a sponsorship deal with Surridge Sports to provide every member with a club shirt, a record anticipated number of junior members will be signing up for the new season of competitive matches and coaching with Friday junior club nights commencing on 2nd May.
"Over the past 2 years we have seen 100% increase in junior membership at the club. We welcome all age groups and abilities into our professional coaching programme and run 8 highly inclusive junior sides to enable everyone to gain a taste of competitive cricket, "said Robin Driscoll, Robin Driscoll, Junior Section Chairman, Old Elthamians.
