Superb team performance from the team tonight. After a stunning day where lots of the boys had played Test Match cricket for 6 hours, they were still full of energy and passion for cricket.

Hunter captained the team brilliantly and had decided to bat after winning the toss.

This was a good decision, with Ben and Dan opening up. They batted well but were a bit too over cautious and missed some opportunities to run. Having said that, Dan hit some great boundary shots and retired on 21 runs, with Ben retiring on 13 runs after facing lots of balls. A solid start.

Both Felix and Ishan batted well, with some aggressive running. Ishan was unlucky to get caught, but should hold his head high. Felix retired on 21. Aggressive running continued with Hunter and Herbie’s partnership which took them through to the end of our innings, with Hunter scoring 12 and Herbie 15. End of innings: 128/1.

The bowling started very strong and our team made it very difficult for Bexleyheath to get going. The first wicket fell with a brilliant ball from Dan in the first over. It’s wasn’t until the 14th over when Herbie took two awesome wickets; the first sending the bails flying and the second one with an outstanding catch from Felix. Then Neerav took a brilliant wicket in the 16th over. Bexleyheath: 93/4

Most impressive was only 15 extras - a massive improvement on their first league game with 41 extras. It was only their second league fixture this season.

I am most proud of the sportsmanship displayed tonight, by both teams. However, our boys were superb - they were gentlemen and the parents should be very proud of their conduct.
